| BEE 699(690) Advanced Bioproduct Systems Feedstocks
|
Course Description
This course will provide an overview of the biobased feedstocks for production of fuels, feed and industrially valuable chemicals. Issues in feedstock utilitization such as suitability, availability and economic viability will be addressed.
Course Objectives
The student, upon completion of this course, should be able to:
- Define and identify feedstocks for biofuels and bioproducts in a biobased economy
- Identify the effect of agroclimatic conditions and chemical composition of feedstock on bioprocessing technologies
- Assess potential feedstocks based on technological and economic parameters
- estimate sustainability of feedstock production and it's impact on socio-economic parameters
